Did you hear the story about the man who died leaving a huge estate which included several valuable works of art? The man’s will stated the estate was to be auctioned off. On the auction day a large crowd gathered, with several bidders eager to bid on the rare pieces of art.
The man who died had a son who was an amateur artist; and the first painting presented for auction was his. The son’s art was nothing like the valuable pieces the crowds came to bid on. The auctioneer stretched the bidding process out, and the crowd became restless with the delay. The painting was sold for a small amount, and the auctioneer announced the end of the auction. The bidder who had purchased the son’s painting was to receive all the rest.
The lesson isn’t easy. The one who has God’s Son has life. The one who does not have God’s Son does not have life. Seek first His kingdom, and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
