We often forget that freedom is maintained and often came at a high price. Tomorrow is Memorial Day, the day we remember those who have given us the ultimate sacrifice; those who died while serving under our country’s colors.
Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). All over this country and the world there are white stone gardens that testify to those who had that great love; they gave so you can have.
We are a country that has much, and despite our sincere desire to remember that price paid our affinities to often lie elsewhere; we are like a dog seeing a squirrel and in our country there are a lot of squirrels to distract us.
Please stop for a moment tomorrow, avoid the internal twist, and take time to remember those who died so you could have freedom.
No greater love,
